Volunteer Opportunities

Contacting admitted students and families
Early each spring, we contact high school seniors who have been admitted to Creighton (and their families) to congratulate them. These contacts can be in the form of phone calls, emails, hand-written notes, or in-person conversations. Parent Volunteers may be matched with students from their child's high school, while Alumni Volunteers may be matched with students who share an interest in their degree/major or who went to the same high school. Sometimes matches are simply geographic. We will assign no more than 10 students/families for you to contact. Online training is provided to assist you in making this contact.

Time commitment: Varies - we ask that you complete your contacts in about a 4-6 week time span - beginning of February to mid-March.

Representing Creighton at local college fairs
As much as we’d like to be able to be in multiple places at once, we can’t. That’s where you come in. If there is an upcoming college fair in your area that needs coverage, we will contact you to see if you’re available, send you a box of materials to display, and provide you with tons of information about Creighton! Fair coverage is typically needed in the fall (September - November) and the spring (February - April).

Time commitment: Varies - roughly 3 hours for each college fair

Attending a local reception
Each fall and spring, we host Creighton on Tour regional receptions. At these events, we invite local alumni and parents of Creighton students to help give prospective Creighton students (juniors and seniors in high school) a feel for the strong Creighton community. Your role is to mingle with families and share your Creighton experience. At some receptions, you will introduce yourself briefly (no longer than 30-60 seconds).

Time commitment: About 2-3 hours for each event

As CAP Volunteers, we will contact you throughout the year, as the above Volunteer opportunities become available. If you're interested, just let us know at that time.
